Today, I just want to thank everyone who commented on my big news last Thursday. I literally sat at my computer and cried every time I saw a new supportive comment on Facebook/Twitter/Goodreads/My Website. The result was a full heart…and a pink, swollen, mascara-stained face. Hot.
Now, I’ve watched when other writers were supported after posting their news, but I guess I never thought it would happen to me. At least not to the extent that it did. Even now, I can’t wrap my head around the fact that so many people took time out of their day to leave a message, or toss out a re-tweet/re-share.
After all the craziness, I’ve decided one thing: you people are crazy about YA books.
And I love you so much for it.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I will say it a million times over my writing career. And I will never….NEVER….forget that I was once a writer penning my first manuscript. And researching what “query” meant. I’ll remember that there are still thousands of writers out there who are unagented and unpublished with BRILLIANT manuscripts. I’m thankful because I was unagented. And I was unpublished.
And I could still be today if one or two things had been different.
So, one more time for the folks in the back–THANK YOU!!!
PS – Check out this mention THE COLLECTOR got in USA Today. Woot!
